FAQ’s

Is there something wrong with me if I need to see a coach?

On the contrary, my clients are the most intelligent, courageous, driven, honest, motivated and inspiring people that I have ever met!

When you are comfortable enough to show your own vulnerability by asking for help, it takes a huge amount of confidence, courage and strength of character!

What type of person comes for coaching? Well, the kind of person that doesn’t settle for average and wants to get more even more from this life!

My clients are always going to be at the forefront of their professions and I am continually impressed with the achievements they have experienced in their personal or business life, and I am honoured to have assisted them for a short time to help them on their path.

I don’t believe that there is anything ‘wrong’ with any of my clients, and I can always see immediately the kind of future that I know they’re going to have!

Typically when my clients have completed their fifth or sixth session, I can see them sitting in my office, looking at me and wondering what they are even doing there!? And that’s because whatever, they believed the ‘issue’ was, is no longer an issue!

How many sessions will I need?

This really does depend on you, and what you are coming to me for. Everybody is unique and will make changes at their own pace. When you are 100% committed and engaged in your change-work, tasks and challenges we set together, the results can be extremely rapid. The methods I use are proven to help you quickly, so that even deep-rooted issues can be resolved in just a few sessions.

If you are looking for coaching to help with goals and life changes you may benefit from a more long-term relationship with sessions further apart.

For more specific isolated problems, you can book a single 3 hr session or the shortest programme which I offer of 3 sessions (6 hours).

Regardless of the initial goals for coaching, my clients don’t need me anymore after about 6-8 session!

(A session is approximately 2 hrs.)

Many people benefit from my ‘3-day intensive breakthrough sessions’ for particular areas in their life. Clients tend to overcome their ‘problem’ within the 3 sessions and the change is then followed up afterwards with further sessions as required.

During our initial consultation, we will assess your needs and will be able to give you ideas of a suggested programme.

Is coaching right for me?

Do you want to make some changes to your life now?

Do you feel that you can’t continue on your current path any longer?

Do you want want to be free of all your worries in less than 8 weeks?

Do you want to let go of the issues that are holding you back now?

Do you deserve to have an even happier life?

Are you someone who doesn’t settle for average?

Would you like even more satisfaction in your personal or business life?

Are you prepared to be honest with me, so that you can achieve your goals?

If you answered ‘yes’ to one of these questions, then coaching is exactly right for you!

The tools and methods I use are safe, widely used in medical and professional environments and have a reputation for producing quick results. By uniquely tailoring my sessions for you and your outcomes, I ensure it is right for you.

The only thing I ask of you in return is that you are fully committed to the process, creating change within yourself and obtaining your results.

What is the main difference between coaching, counselling or other types of therapy?

Other therapies spend a great deal of time ‘regressing’ you back in time, most often to your childhood and chatting about what happened and ‘why you are like you are’. This can mean that you end up feeling the emotions all over again and reliving unpleasant situations without any significant change as a result.

As much as it is often useful for people to have some form of understanding as to why they behave in certain ways, there are gentler ways of acquiring this insight if needed, and in isolation that insight doesn’t get us nearer to knowing how to do things differently. It is this ‘knowing how to do things differently’ that sets us apart.

What I offer is solution focused coaching that is predominantly focused on the here and now and your future changes you wish to make. Should you feel you need to gain learnings from your past or let go of emotions and limiting decisions, I can help you gently revisit your past without having to feel the emotions and relive the experiences.

Overall, I will be making sense of ‘how’ you do your problem in the present day and how you have not reached your goals yet. From there I have all the tools to help you make those changes and reach your goals.

What happens during a free consultation?

We will have an initial relaxed FREE consultation on the phone or in person to both assess whether we might like to work together. The initial consultation is usually held in a more casual setting such as a coffee shop, unless you have a preference to meet up somewhere more private.

This consultation with any coach is so important for you. You will probably know immediately whether you want to work with that person. You are going to be revealing some very personal details about yourself, and it is important that you get the right ‘feeling’ when you meet them.

I believe you will get the best results in the fastest time, with the coach that you have the best connection or ‘rapport’ with, so trust your gut instinct!

I’ve found with all my clients that I’ve shared some similarity with them, either in the challenges they have faced in the past, or similarities in our values and thought processes. I believe that we choose each other, and we initially connect with each other without knowing yet what the connection is.

You are under no obligation to commit to the coaching programme when you come to the consultation. You might decide to commit during the session or you might decide when you get home.

I will send you a welcome pack alongside a questionnaire for you to complete, to assist me in creating a program tailored especially for you, and you will already have started the learning and change process by the time we meet for our first real session.

What happens during a typical session?

In our first session, we will review your questionnaire and pre-coaching pack and build an understanding of what the issues are and what you want. I will be able to answer any questions that you may have before we move onto ways to create the change.

In most sessions generally, we spend some time reviewing the last session and any tasks that you have been doing, before moving on to the change work. This will be conversational using tools and techniques that I will guide you through.

Towards the end, we will review the session and agree on tasks and exercises with the new choices, actions and behaviours that you have acquired.

What is the frequency of coaching required?

This depends on the client, their goals and how quickly they wish to change their life. Breakthrough sessions are designed to create immediate change and may not need any further sessions after the follow-up.

Resolving problems may require a more consistent frequency after the first session of once weekly or fortnightly. Changes can happen quite quickly, often within the first or second session, although a little more time might be needed to explore more difficult and complex issues.

I usually see my clients on a weekly basis. For my packages I allow an additional week for flexibility due to holidays or sickness.

For instance, my 1st Package which consists of 3 sessions would be completed within 1 month, and my 2nd package which is 6 sessions, would be completed within a maximum of 8 weeks, and so on.

Personal Development Coaching is best judged individually, but often clients start with sessions fairly frequently and then reduce them to once monthly to stay of track, keep motivated and achieve long-term change.

Whatever your goal, it is my duty and wish to help you create change as quickly as is possible and appropriate for you.

What does it cost?

The packages and session rates offer exceptionally good value for money. The integrated methods I use and my expertise leads to fast effective results. Therefore, the number of sessions that you will require will be significantly less that other forms of therapy or counselling that can go on for months or years.

I have recently updated my packages to allow you even more flexibility without having to commit to a full coaching programme if you would prefer to work on something specific.

The hourly rates are based on a sliding scale, and the price is reduced with the higher number of sessions that you opt in to.

The average price for an experienced Life Coach in Dubai is between 750 to 1200 dirhams per hour. You can usually make savings with any coach by opting to purchase a package of hours, and that way you can save some money as well as getting the payment out the way and being able to focus on your coaching goals.

If you are purchasing a package you also have the option to spread the payments over the duration of your programme, by setting up a standing instruction to pay at monthly intervals in your programme or with post-dated cheques.

When choosing to work with a coach, paying less doesn’t always serve you well. There is a lot of research which suggests that the more you pay for something, the more likely you are to value it, and it can give you the extra motivation to ensure that you get the results that you want.

I know when a client is ready to make their desired changes, because nothing will stop them from taking the decision to start their programme now.

I am aware that you are making a financial commitment when you start your coaching journey, and that’s why I deliver you the fastest results with as few sessions as required to make the changes now. That’s the reason I have split my signature LifeChanger programme into 3 parts, so that you don’t have to commit to paying for the whole process and you can choose exactly which elements you would like to focus on.

Can you provide remote coaching?

Yes. It is possible to have coaching sessions via Skype or on the telephone and some sessions can be followed up using these methods. Sessions in person are always preferable and some issues are not suitable for remote coaching; they will require sessions in person.

My view has changed on conducting sessions over the phone or via video calling, and I believe that they offer a unique anonymity to the sessions which has led to clients being much more open and the benefit to my clients is that they can conduct the entire session in the comfort of their own home, wearing pyjamas or not having to do hair, makeup or dress up or leave the house.

During the past 18 months I have increased the number of clients that I conduct the whole programme via the telephone, and sometimes with Skype.

Video calling can sometimes be disrupted during the sessions, so I have learned to adapt my techniques to complete them fully just by telephone and the results have been just as great, if not better, because being on the phone can almost imply a greater sense of urgency and my clients get straight into the techniques much faster than doing it face to face.

I am based in Dubai and currently have many clients across Europe, America and The Middle East.

I cover the cost of the coaching calls to 100 different countries around the world, so if you are reading this and based in any other country, you can still benefit from my coaching.

Please ask for more details and I can discuss your needs.

What happens if I am away or out of the country?

If you wish to continue your sessions whilst you are away, we can arrange this via Skype or over the telephone. It is useful to inform us of your travel plans as far in advance as possible so that we can integrate this into your programme and plan around it.

If you are going away for leisure time/holidays, it may well be advisable to postpone further sessions until you are back, as having free time for yourself and your enjoyment is highly beneficial to your well-being. Naturally, it is your choice, and some people actually want to use this time for working towards their outcome. If that is your preference, we can arrange tasks and exercises for you to do while away.

What happens if I am late for my appointment?

If you are running late, of course I would appreciate if you can contact me as early as possible. Sometimes I can’t extend your session if you are late, due to other appointments later, although I would always do my best to accommodate you, as I know that sometimes things don’t always go to plan. A full coaching agreement and details of my policy will be given to you when you make a booking.

What is your session cancellation policy and notice required?

I politely request that any changes to your appointment dates and times are made as early as possible in order to create flexibility for other clients.

Although every effort is made to accommodate changes in your schedule, I request 48 hours’ notice for cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment. An alternative appointment will be offered to you at this time.

You will be given full details of my agreement and policies when you make a booking.

I hope that I have addressed most of your queries here. However, if you don’t see the answer to your question feel free to give me a call, or book in for a FREE consultation. I will be more than happy to answer any further questions you have.
